Clean Temporary Places is a free system utility software developed by z_stoichev that automatically deletes unused, temporary, and hidden files to free up disk space. It was inspired by a legacy tool called “Cleano”. It is lightweight (1.6 MB) and built to help enforce custom, automated file-purging rules across a computer. Key Features of the Software
Multi-Location Purging: Deletes temporary data across various hidden system directories.
Cross-Platform Compatibility: Functions across Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems.
Corporate IT Policies: Supports company-wide automated cleanup parameters.
Smart Filtering: Evaluates folder usage to safely exclude critical files from deletion.
Prefetch Optimization: Rebuilds Windows Prefetch trace files to optimize system boot cycles. Alternative Ways to Clean Temporary Places Manually
If you prefer not to use third-party tools, you can easily access and wipe out these exact temporary locations using standard system utilities: 1. Windows Settings Storage Tool Open Settings by pressing the Windows Key + I. Navigate directly to System, then choose Storage.
Click on Temporary files to let Windows scan your system cache. Check the desired categories and click Remove files. 2. The Direct “Run” Command Press Windows Key + R to toggle the prompt box.
Type %temp% and press Enter to launch your user profile’s hidden cache folder. Highlight all items with Ctrl + A and press Delete.
Note: Skip any individual files that throw an error, as they are currently open in the background.
